Laura, as a child, you were one of my dearest friends as well as family members. Now as we are women, you are my valued companion and fellow artist. You are many things to many of us, mother, teacher, wife, friend, and confidant. Through all of the years, I am glad that we still remain as close as always. The one thing that will never change is our bond, and the thing that you most need to hear from me now is how proud I am of you. From the time I turned a cartwheel off your bed and wound up in the emergency room, the first skinned-up knee, the first kiss, all the times we snuck out of your house, all the tears and all the boyfriends. Our adolescent triumph. I am so happy for you as you embark on this great adventure to Italy. You are living your dreams, and they are coming true. The world is a better place with you in it...the world is lucky to have your beautiful loving soul. May God always bless you in your beautiful talent that you show to the world. Best friends always.

Sunday, November 01, 2009, joe sartor

Hi Laura, Your new brochure is wonderful, thanks for sharing! I was showing it to someone and telling them about your trip to Italy this summer, but was told that you and George are going to travel there next month. How do you maintain an air of calmness 'til then? Congratulations all over again; this exhibition achievment is too exciting for words. (I'm emailing you here because my last attempt to email your hotmail address failed permanently. Belated halloween greetings. Joe

Hello. i am a former student of George's and an admirer of both of your talents. I just thought I would say hello and that I really enjoy your work. I also wanted to ask you about one of your pieces. i am interested in buying your piece, "George" if it's still available. There are others I like as well but if possible I'd like the "George" piece for sentimental purposes. if possible, could you maybe email a response?

Wednesday, June 18, 2008, Dodi Orr

Wow. A true visionary. thank you. i will bookmark this site so that i might be blessed to come back to you and your world.

Thursday, September 13, 2007, Lynn Montgomery-Trierviel

This is surreal. I really did find your site quite by accident. I love your work, I know exactly why George married you... I can see it. I am looking for a copy of the first book. Does George still have them available? My daughter Claire, who was born when young George was born here in Iowa, is a budding writer. I want to give the book to her as a gift. Please give him our love. All my best, Lynn.

Friday, May 04, 2007, Jaime Sanchez

Spend much time in your mind. You are not a prisoner, you soar in your thoughts. You connect with your friends every day, by putting your self out there. I guess a phone call or email is called for from time to time. You are not afraid to ask questions. I enjoy your writing. I think that we all want to fast foward to the futue a bit. Want to get there. But our aesthetic is FINE just as it is at the moment. Keeping the practice at a regular basis is the most important thing. The compositions will form themselves. It's fun though. We get to watch and participate as they do just that right in front of our own mind's eye.

Friday, April 06, 2007, Manfredo

Your art is something noble that give wings to my imagination

Kiss the babies for me and tell George I'd like to have a copy of his book, signed of course.

Sunday, January 21, 2007, Larry Lundy

Hi, Laura. Thanks for sending me to your website. For a student, this is an amazing acheivement. You should document your work with dates. Your poetry is beautiful to. Keep this up. I would like to see your recent works.

Tuesday, June 06, 2006, Richard

Outstanding work, Laura!

Monday, May 08, 2006, bill dozier

blood . . . blood . . . your own blood . . . okay . . . it looks good with the painting shown . . . its inclusion definitely personalizes a work . . . one of a kind . . . and the process is transmogrified into ritual . . . and viewer is transformed into witness . . .

Friday, April 21, 2006, Stephanie Gill

Thank you for your contributon to ascent. Your paintings are beautiful.

Thursday, March 16, 2006, Michael Huff

I first saw one of your paintings on a post card your husband, professor George Eklund, keeps on his office door. What a visual delight! He gave me the card and I'm grateful he did. I'm also grateful that you gave the link to where we can read his powerful poetic works. I think you both are brilliant. As a writer, I feel blessed to walk in the light of both your influence.

Monday, February 20, 2006, Klaus Lange

Now and then I set ashore and luxuriate in a fast enough online connection that allows me to visit and view the pictures of my fellow artists. Your works are great works of passion. When can I photograph you while you are painting?

Saturday, January 21, 2006, Luke Armstrong

Tack on. Raw as it can be lased with emotion, given every possibility. With the spikes glory given with each truth, sharing honestly, powerfully.

Tuesday, January 17, 2006, Anita Bentley

I LOVE your work! As a fellow, and beginning artist however, I have a question. How on earth do you let go of it?! I have a hard time with that. Each piece feels like I have just given birth!

Thursday, January 12, 2006, Devon Johnson

I am writing on behalf of World Art Media - a unique organization affiliated with NY Arts Magazine and on the look out for new artists to feature in our upcoming campaigns and projects. We are based in New York City and we offer a variety of opportunities for independent, innovative, and self-motivated artists. I have looked at some images and was impressed by your works.

...and those tears... the most sacred of all.

Friday, December 16, 2005, Karen M. Telford

"Monday, Dec 12, 2005 I painted over my new self-portrait this weekend...I wept as I painted over it, but my teachers taught me every painting is not sacred." You didn't learn that in MY class, missy! Every painting IS sacred-how could your personal expression of Divine Energy be anything else? (of course, Change is sacred too...) Paul Simon's "when I think back on all the crap I learned in high school it's a wonder I can think at all" must be cubed for college. As Coleman Barks once told me, "I got a PhD... but I got over it." I have confidence you will, too. The godds giveth you a lot of help these days... strong, magnificent work, Laura. I'm proud to have been there.

Saturday, December 10, 2005, Richard Wolfson

Very much Interested in your art, and will be opening a new gallery in Portland Or soon.

Monday, November 28, 2005, Myra Oldham

HI Laura-love what I've seen so far! Myra

Tuesday, November 15, 2005, J. Todd Dockery

You work makes me feel dumb, not because you work is dumb, but because it appears so sublime in comparison to my own dull awareness.

Thursday, November 10, 2005, stephen tirone

bravo bravo enjoy your work and words

Monday, November 07, 2005, Richard Green

I can't describe the way your paintings make me feel, Laura, that are beyond narratives or presnetations or themes. Your painting will lead you to a place that is rapid, imagistic, like it has made me feel enthusiastic and full of fear. and I think you are one of the best painters of our time. I have put a link to your site from mine.

Wednesday, October 26, 2005, Lynn Preston

Hi. My husband knows your husband - John Preston. Thanks for the card with the web address. Your work is very interesting. We will have to share some images. Peace, Lynn Preston

I like the mix of picture and word at yr. site, each complementing the other to create a narrative of concrete poetics. Further.

Wednesday, September 14, 2005, Marjorie Kaye

love the interplay of photographic and painted forms! The expressionistic format is not a new one, Laura, but your particular energetic approach refreshes the entire genre!
